    What does the job look like? :
    • The Area Manager is a key collaborative position for the company strategy and execution with our management team and team members.  The primary focus of the Area Manager is operational excellence in execution, coaching, sales culture, merchandising, recruiting, overall profitability, and risk management.
    • The following are examples of some of the basic job duties:
      • Coach and develop future leaders through mentoring, motivation, and performance management.
      • Always be genuine in the intent and practice of helping others.
      • Participate in the continued development and execution of the training program and training practices.
      • Recruit, hire, coach, and retain an engaged team of district managers, store managers, assistant managers, and other operational positions through demonstrating initiative, leading by example, and celebrating accomplishments.
      • Build relationships with directors, other area managers, food professionals, and other company stakeholders to share best practices and move our corporate purpose forward.
      • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and customers.
      • Maintain the skillset and efficient operational execution practices of all areas and divisions of oversight.
      • Find efficiencies throughout the systems and share with the appropriate stakeholders.
      • Work with stakeholders to develop budgets and be accountable to those budgets.
      • Develop execution standards that maintain profitability expectations that are aligned with the Company’s strategy and key objectives.
      • Focus on Kwik Chek’s core offerings to enhance our competitive advantage within markets where we operate.
      • Ensuring properties are safe and meet all company and regulatory expectations.
      • Be a steward of safety.
      • Be aware of trends in markets and communicate that to the appropriate departments.
      • Maximize controllable profits and company assets within the area.
      • Understand and be competent in understanding the financial statements of Kwik Chek and possess the ability to coach others in this area.
    Other Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Willingness and ability to obtain certifications and/or continuing education as needed for the proper execution of any 3rd party or franchise agreements and/or expectations.
    • Develop an effective feedback method for communicating to management in regards to the overall health, capital needs, and any potential threats to the business.

    What skills will I need or what other requirements are expected of me?
    • Education and Experience: Five to seven years of relevant experience to all facets of the retail industry with particular emphasis on the areas listed below.  A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but length of relevant, successful experience will be considered.
      • A track record that presents high character and relationships that are above reproach.
      • Demonstrated support for multiple sites and/or profit centers.
      • P&L, budget management, and financial analysis experience.
      • Demonstrated foodservice operations and training execution.
      • Possess a leadership background with a strong ability to develop trust quickly.
    • Language/Communication Skills:  Ability to use various methods of correspondence appropriately and effectively. Be a very strong communicator and easily engage with people that allows for great communication. Strong bilingual skills preferred.
    • Reasoning Ability: Possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written or oral instructions.  You will also be expected to use sound judgment.  Corporate liability must always be considered in each and every communication.
    • Computer Operations:  Basic computer skills with the ability to operate multiple devices.  Must also possess the desire and ability to understand various computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.  An overall comfort and curiosity level with computers and the internet.  
    • Planning/Organization: Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  The ability to prioritize tasks and training to meet the expectations of the position and the organization.
    • Work Schedule/Hours:  All hours relevant to the current priorities and objectives of the department.
