  • Buc-ee's coming to Ennis

Buc-ee’s has announced that it has signed a development agreement with the City of Ennis to build a new travel center bordered by I-45 north, Sonoma Trail and Creechville Road.

“I knew after spending a few minutes discussing the travel center project with Beaver Aplin, the City and Buc-ee’s were going to have a great relationship,” said Ennis Mayor Angie Juenemann.

Once built, the 50,000–plus square-foot store will employ at least 150 full-time staff, will provide 86 fueling positions, and will offer Bucee’s famous Texas Round Up BBQ, as well as a wide selection of beef jerky, freshly baked pastries, and other treats. Buc-ee’s plans to open the store in 2019.

“The Buc-ee’s brand is one of the most recognizable and distinctive in Texas,” said Juenemann. “Being associated with such a positive brand will enhance our standing and really put Ennis on the map. For me personally, I’m having to create a “Beaver Nugget Budget. My husband loves them!”
