  • Incumbent TDA Commissioner Sid Miller Advances to General Election

Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Commissioner Sid Miller garnered 56% of the primary vote last night, advancing him to the general election in November against the Democratic challenger Kim Olson.

From the beginning, Trey Blocker faced an uphill battle positioning himself to the right of the republican incumbent Sid Miller whose name ID among republican voters is very high.

TFFA was proud to endorse a candidate and support others during the 2018 primaries who are pro-business and friendly to our industry. Our influence at the Texas Capitol and various state and federal regulatory agencies remain as strong as ever.

While TFFA’s endorsed candidate for Ag Commissioner may have lost, we will continue our working relationship with TDA and assess candidates from both parties who will be on the ballot in November.

Our mission remains to enable the success of TFFA members by serving as the most powerful non-partisan not-for-profit organization representing the convenience retailing and fuel marketing industries in Texas.

Thank you to those who voted in the Texas primaries, volunteered on campaign trails, and donated to the TFFA PAC and 181 Club. Your support expands our political reach and allows us to advocate on your behalf each and every day.
