Four years ago, Katrina Bush was recognized for her scholastic achivements by the TFFA Scholarship Foundation with an annual award to help fund her college dreams.  TFFA is proud to learn that Katrina is graduating from St. Edward's University on May 11th with a degree in Biology, Pre-Health Concentration and with Presidential Awards and Cum Laud Honors.

Early in Katrina’s time at St. Edward’s, she began volunteering at C.D. Doyle Clinic, a free health clinic serving the homeless and low-income communities of Austin. She has also had the opportunity to see health issues internationally by serving as president of the St. Edward’s chapter of GlobeMed, a social-justice health equity organization that partners with global nonprofits to work on sustainable partnerships and projects. During a summer in Nicaragua, Katrina worked as a grassroots onsite work intern planning a nutritional project, while focusing on developing a mutual relationship to best understand and serve their needs. In working with the Austin homeless community and local citizens in Nicaragua, she became convinced that healthcare is a human right, not a privilege.

Katrina has been accepted into the Texas Tech Medical School and will start in August of 2020.

It is a true honor for TFFA to play a small role in Katrina's success.

2019 scholarship recipients have been selected and will be announced soon.  Be sure to attend the 2019 Southwest Fuel & Convenience Expo, a portion of the proceeds generated from the Casino Party are donated to the Scholarship Foundation which funds the educational journey's of future leaders like Katrina.
