  • US Retailer Love's Plans to Open Over 40 Sites in 2022

Love's Travel Stops said in an announcement today that it plans to open more
than 40 locations this year, providing 3,000 additional truck parking spaces
    and 3,000 jobs.

The company said today's announcement follows a "challenging, but successful
2021" during which it opened 38 stores, which added more than 3,000 truck
parking spaces. The shortage of truck parking has ranked near the top of
    industry concerns in recent years.

The chain intends to improve its amenities and services, Shane Wharton,
president of Love's, said in the announcement.

This year's plan calls for: opening more than 20 Love's Truck Care and Speedco
sites, which provide oil changes and other preventive maintenance as well as
roadside coverage for professional drivers; enhancing Love's Connect mobile app
with new features; expanding Love's-branded product line and introducing
additional fresh and hot food offerings such as salads, sandwiches and
breakfast items; adding new products to Love's Mobile to Go Zone; and
increasing fueling options through Trillium, an affiliate providing alternative
    and renewable fuels.

Founded in 1964, Love's Travel Stops, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, said it has
more than 580 locations in 41 states. The family-owned-and-operated retailer
also has more than 420 truck service centers under the Speedco and Love's Truck
    Care names.

Currently, Love's ranks No. 20 nationwide in market share based on store brand
at 1.09% with 0.44% of the outlets, according to OPIS MarketSharePro. The
company retails gasoline at an average of 2.66cts/gal below market, OPIS
    figures show.
