Council on Transportation

Newly created council interfacing with DPS/DOT on regulatory issues, provide input to the staff on technological trends and educational needs, and acts as a forum for members operating transportation assets to network on issues related to safety, regulation, and profitability of transportation operations.

Legislative Council

- Guides the association’s positions on legislative, regulatory and related issues.
- Council discussion includes both state and federal issues as well as political developments impacting the industries represented by the association.

Membership Council

- Guides the association’s initiatives to promote membership and participation.
- Council discussions includes membership organization, participation and promotion.

Retail Operations Council

- Guides the association’s positions on issues related to the operation of retail facilities including convenience stores and grocery stores.
- Council discussions include both state and federal regulatory affairs as well as industry developments.

Political Action Council

The Texas Food & Fuel Association PAC makes campaign contributions to elected officials and candidates for elective office. The PAC’s contributions are limited to members of the Texas House of Representatives, Texas Senate as well as statewide officeholders including Governor, Lt. Governor, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and others.

Contributions from the PAC to candidates and elected officials are approved by the PAC Trustees. The PAC Trustees include three members of the Board of Directors appointed by the Chairman and the four regional directors of the association. The association makes every effort to deliver PAC contributions in the officeholder’s home district with our members’ participation.

Contributions to the PAC must be in the form of personal monies (no corporate funds are permitted). The association hosts events throughout the year to raise funds for the PAC in addition to personal and mailed solicitations.

 Scholarship Council

Serves as advisors to the TFFA Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors and play a key role in planning fundraising activities.

Wholesale Operations Council

- Guides the association’s positions on issues related to the bulk sale of motor fuels and lubricants.
- Council discussions includes both state and federal regulatory affairs as well as industry developments.

Wranglers Council

The Wranglers are a council of the Texas Food & Fuel Association and provide fellowship and networking opportunities for supplier and wholesale grocery members.

Council members assist in the planning of fundraising activities, recruitment and retention of council members and election of three of its members to serve on the Texas Food & Fuel Association’s Board of Directors. In return for their commitment to serve the Association, council members benefit from enhanced visibility, peer engagement, and leadership opportunities.

Funds raised by The Wranglers are used to support the Association’s scholarship foundation, of which $73,000 has been awarded since 2004, and given annually to a dependent child of a supplier or wholesale grocery member, or one of their employees.

Why join The Wranglers? Exposure, recognition during Association meetings and events, enhanced leadership opportunities, and relationship building through a variety of networking mixers.
